Animating Wellness with Count-it: Breathing Life into a Healthful Community

In the realm of office culture, where the daily grind often obscures the path towards wellness, Count-it emerged as a beacon of healthful living, blending fitness and interoffice camaraderie into a singular, innovative platform. My journey with Count-it's branding and product design was not only about crafting visuals but also weaving the intrinsic values of wellness, friendly competition, and community spirit into every design element.


The creation of Count-it’s logo wasn’t simply an exercise in aesthetics; it was a nuanced endeavor to capture and reflect the lively, supportive, and energizing culture of Count-it within a visual icon. Every curve, color, and shadow was meticulously designed to symbolize the pulsating energy and collective ethos of our community, ensuring that it did not just represent us but truly encapsulated our spirit.

Our mascot, which quickly burgeoned into a tangible manifestation of our core values, was born from the very essence of Count-it’s culture. The Count-it bot, initially conceptualized as a sassy backend notification system, not only automated messages but added a dash of verve, charisma, and cheeky enthusiasm to our daily interactions. It didn’t merely notify; it communicated, animated, and engaged, swiftly evolving into the adorable heart and soul of our company, delighting and uniting team members with its cheeky charisma.


By integrating a system that incentivized wellness through tangible rewards such as free lunches, discounts, and charitable donations, we didn’t just promote a healthy lifestyle but ensured it was recognized, celebrated, and nurtured through every step, jog, and sprint towards health goals.

Working on Count-it was more than a project. It was a delightful journey into crafting a brand that didn’t just speak to users but danced with them, cheering, motivating, and celebrating every step towards a more healthful, united, and vibrant working community.

Embarking on a Journey of Light and Connection


When we initiated the "This Light Shines" project, our compass was set towards merging culture, technology, and interactive design in a digital space, transcending physical boundaries. Utilizing the latest in Google Chrome technology, our team succeeded in crafting a dynamic, living landscape, an interactive experience steeped in the rich tradition and significance of the Lunar New Year, celebrated across numerous cultures through the emblematic lantern festival.

In this space, each lantern illuminates with purpose, ascending skyward, becoming vessels for wishes, memories, and warm messages, which visitors were invited to share, personalizing the experience. By integrating geo-location technology, users found themselves immersed within this enchanting landscape, grounding their digital experience in their physical locale. Thus, the night sky, although virtual, reflected a global tapestry of collective wishes, extending from city to city, heart to heart.


It was an honor to see our digital tapestry of lights and messages acknowledged with an Honorable Mention from Awwwards.com, recognizing not just the technical and creative prowess of our team, but also the universal human connections that we were able to kindle through our design. Through 'This Light Shines', we found a way to dim the vastness of the digital and physical space between us all, weaving a thread of unity, understanding, and shared human experience.

Crafting Authentic Conversations with "HI: Hyper Island"

Navigating the intriguing intersection of brand identity and community engagement, our 'HI, Hyper Island' project aimed to forge a bridge between the authoritative tone often exuded by big brands and the more personable, informal interaction sought by today’s consumers. In a climate where relatability and personal connections define brand loyalty, we recognized the indispensable need for brands to be seen not just as corporate entities, but as entities capable of genuine, heartfelt conversations.

With "HI, Hyper Island", we didn’t just integrate the brand into the community — we wove it into the dialogues, stories, and everyday exchanges happening within that community. The project, from inception, was designed to say ‘Hi!’ first, initiating conversations, prompting interactions thus effortlessly embedding itself into the relational fabric of the consumer base.

In a marketplace saturated with brands shouting to be heard, 'HI, Hyper Island' chose to sit, listen, and engage in a dialogue, cultivating a presence that was not just seen, but genuinely felt and organically integrated into the lives of the community. It's not merely a project, but a philosophy that espouses the power of 'hello' in transforming brand-consumer relationships into something a little more genuine, a little more connected, and remarkably memorable.
